Chris Passed the TAKS

We got the news last week; Chris passed his TAKS test!!! He is officially a 6th grader. I can hardly believe it, 6th grade! It seems like yesterday when he was 6 years old and now he is in middle school. They grow up so fast. Next he will be driving.
To celebrate his achievement we had a cook out and went swimming with friends. Here is a picture from our celebration.

Dear Chris' family:

Congratulations on passing the TAKS. To make things easier next year as a 6th grader, there are some simple steps that you can take.

First go to the TEA website and search under released tests. Download all 6th grade tests 2003, 2004, 2006. Answer sheets are also available.

Have Chris analyze the questions by placing them in categories of easy, medium and hard. Once this has been established, Chris can use the best mental strategies for getting the correct answer. Commended performance is a real possibility if the brain is changed from a reactive one to a proactive one. If you want guidance, I will be more than happy to provide it. My email is msmac@wcc.net or go to www.fortword.com to read bio information for validation.

Remember if the brain is capable of getting one question correct it is capable of getting all of them correct. High scores open doors in our society and it is a self-confidence booster.

Have a great summer.
